Procurement Manager- Tech , LAGOS

our client is a  new technological  products sales company requiring a  procurement manager .This role requires playing a key role in liasing with upstream partners procuring high quality and cost efficient products  for the organization. Successful candidate will follow procurement procedures, maintain an updated list of inventory and incoming purchases and supplies, and would be  responsible for approving purchases

Responsibilities

  • Estimating and establishing cost parameters and budgets for purchases
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing and creating/ maintenance of all incoming inventory and current supplies.
  • Create and maintain good relationships with vendors/suppliers, examine and re-evaluate existing contracts
  • Making professional decisions in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with key persons to ensure the clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
  • Maintain records of purchases, pricing, tracking, reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, price options and foresees alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
  • Develops plans for purchasing equipment, services and supplies
  • Negotiate the best deal for pricing and supply contracts
  • ensure that the products and supplies are high quality
  • Anticipate unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
  • Perform risk management regarding supply contracts and agreements
  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs

Competency/Skill/Requirements

  • B.sc in business administration, accounting, or related fields
  • Minimum of  5-7years working experience as a procurement officer or related position
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
  • Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail
  • Goal-oriented, organized team player
