Senior Facilities Officer (Abuja)

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall services provided within the facility
  • Create a suitable environment for the purpose and needs of the hotel facilities
  • Use best business practices to manage and reduce operation costs
  • Create a budget for various hotel facility needs and expenses
  • Compare costs for various services and goods before choosing the best options for the hotel
  •  Manage the maintenance of the  hotel building by performing repairs or contracting maintenance services as needed
  • Track building upkeep as well as anticipated long- and short-term improvements and maintenance
  •  Keep the surrounding grounds properly cared for and landscaped
  • Handle certain administrative tasks, such as preparing reports for facility owners
  • Respond to emergency situations or other urgent issues involving the hotel facilities
  • Daily leadership and administration of the engineering function of the property with the objectives of safely and effectively operating machinery and building systems
  • Train members of the department as appropriate in new processes and procedures while ensuring compliance
  • Be able to immediately recognize system performance deficiencies and respond to operational and emergency situations
  • Ensure the availability of an adequate inventory of tools and other supplies to operate the building
  • Organize administrative functions related to site operations, such as a work orders and maintenance activities, budgets, ordering supplies, etc. 

Competency/Skill/Requirements

  • At least a bachelor's degree in a related field, MSC will be an advantage.
  • University  degree in Engineering, and other related courses
  • Relevant certification required
  • Between 35-40 years of age
  • 5 years of experience in facility/plant engineering and maintenance supervision.
  • Relevant years of project management experience
  • Managerial experience and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and building automation systems
